Bontà a carattere non morale

 

Si intende "bontà a carattere non morale" quando si descrive, per esempio, "un buon idraulico", o "un buon pianista", anche se potrebbe avere un carattere malvagio. Una cena, un computer, un martello, possono essere "buoni" anche se come oggetti inanimati non sono soggetti a valutazione morale. Bontà non di carattere morale spesso significa "buono a fare qualcosa". Si descrive così la bontà teleologica. È in questo senso che Dio dice che "Dio vide che la luce era buona; e Dio separò la luce dalle tenebre" (Genesi 1:4).
